Beetroot
Beetroot

This species can be grown in almost all types of soil, but the most suitable is medium-firm, loamy, well-structured and very humus-rich soils - chernozems, loess, sludges, rendzinas. The optimal soil pH values for beetroots are 6.0-7.5. Much like carrots, beetroots react badly to freshly limed soils. Beetroot is especially sensitive to boron deficiencies. If soil analysis has not been performed, the number of mineral fertilizers per hectare in the sites moderately rich in nutrients should be 80-100 kg N, 80-100 kg P2O5, 200-250 kg K2O and 50 kg MgO.
